Large example image of the Compare/Contrastor card.
Purpose
Use the Compare/Contrastor to visually compare two ideas or concepts. You can list details that belong to each of the concepts and details that belong to both of the concepts. The Compare/Contrastor helps you prepare for essays and test questions.
Tips
» Use this tool when you have to write about two things that have similarities and differences.
» List the items you are to write about next to the letter over each circle.
» List how the things are different under the "A" and the "B" headings.
» List how the things are the same where the two circles overlap under "both A and B".
» Use each list to make paragraph statements beginning with how they are the same (both A and B) and then how they are different (Only A or Only B).
» Be sure to use an introduction sentence at the beginning and a summary sentence at the end of your paragraph.
